Earth Symphony: Jake Runestad & Todd Boss Unveil Their Work’s Title
We are thrilled to unveil the title of the monumental new work by “choral rockstar” composer Jake Runestad and librettist Todd Boss — Earth Symphony!
We will perform the world premiere of Earth Symphony (“choral”) this February. Earth Symphony will be Runestad’s first symphony and the ninth collaboration between the duo. Runestad and Boss have created pieces together that have been performed at the Kennedy Center and across the globe. This work for chorus and orchestra explores the voice of Mother Earth as the piece explores the voice of Mother Earth and sends an impassioned message to listeners, encouraging gratitude and care towards our planet.
Earth’s Symphony (“choral”) will be coupled with the popular environmental masterwork, Vivaldi Four Seasons.
About 300 years ago, Antonio Vivaldi composed what has become perhaps the most popular environment-themed work of all time: The Four Seasons.
Paired next month with Runestad’s Earth Symphony (“choral”), this uniquely evocative set of concerti tops off a poignant program of gratitude and care towards our planet.
