Hailed as a “standout” (Chicago Tribune) and praised for his “authenticity and smooth sound” (OperaWire), baritone Benjamin Howard is a rising talent based in New York City. His 2025-26 season began with a major motion picture debut, singing onscreen in The History of Sound starring Paul Mescal and Josh O’Connor. Since then, Benjamin has sung the title role in the world premiere opera Prince Cnut with Ex Corde in NYC, and toured internationally with the GRAMMY®-nominated Clarion Choir alongside Harry Bicket and The English Concert. In June, he will present works by Offenbach as part of New York Opera Alliance’s annual series NYOA Next.

Recent solo performances include Vaughan Williams’ Five Mystical Songs with the Westchester Oratorio Society and Bach’s Mass in B Minor with New York Baroque Incorporated. On the opera stage, Benjamin was featured last spring in two world premieres: Paola Prestini’s Sensorium Ex with Beth Morrison Projects in Omaha, Nebraska and Whitney George’s No Man’s Land with The Curiosity Cabinet in Brooklyn, NY. Other stage highlights include Rapunzel’s Prince in Into the Woods with Utah Festival Opera, Pish-Tush in The Mikado with Pacific Opera Project and Publio in La Clemenza di Tito with Bronx Opera.

Benjamin is currently in his fifth season as baritone/bass in New York’s world-renowned Saint Thomas Choir of Men & Boys. He received his Bachelor of Music and Music Theatre Certificate from Northwestern University and Master of Music degree from the University of North Texas. He is a proud member of the American Guild of Musical Artists.
