Sandy Schwoebel holds BM, MM and DMA degrees in performance. Sandy was Editor-in-Chief of The Flutist Quarterly from 1992-1998, served as a Consulting Editor and writer for Flute Talk magazine from 2000-2002, and was a regular columnist for the New Zealand magazine Flute Focus for many years. She is a two-time winner of the National Flute Association’s Professional Flute Choir Competition and has served on an Arts Education panel for The National Endowment for the Arts. Currently, Sandy maintains a large private flute studio, performs with several chamber music groups, and freelances as a soloist and section player with Broadway in Tucson, True Concord, the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, and the Tucson Pops Orchestra. She has toured internationally to China and Mexico. When not playing the flute, Sandy likes to bake exotic desserts and dance Argentine tango.
