Our New Season is ‘Out of this World!’
True Concord’s 19th season features trademark programming of classic masterworks, including Haydn’s The Creation, Rachmaninoff’s Vespers and motets by Brahms, Bruckner, Bach and Mozart; two works new to Tucson: the Southwest premiere of Timothy Takach’s Helios, a musical journey through the solar system, and the world premiere of True Concord’s commission, Jocelyn Hagen’s HERE I AM, a celebration of women from around the world; plus True Concord’s Annual Holiday Gift to Tucson, Lessons & Carols by Candlelight featuring the always popular Christmas carol sing-along.
Additionally, the popular Close-Up Recital Series continues and is comprised of recitals by two members of the True Concord Vocal Ensemble, Emily Marvosh, contralto and Edward Vogel, baritone. Rescheduled from February 2022, the Metropolitan Opera star Susanna Phillips with Christopher Cano at the piano completes the series in a recital featuring works by Brahms, Clara and Robert Schumann, Delibes, Dvorak, Bizet and Ravel plus Gordon Myers’s charming and witty set of songs based on the writings of the great American poet, “Do You Sing, Mr. Twain” a cycle with which Ms. Phillips brought the house down at Carnegie Hall.
We are incredibly excited for all that is to come in the 2022-23 season and cannot wait to share it with you!
