True Concord’s GRAMMY-Nominated Recording
The GRAMMY-nominated recording, Far In The Heavens, is comprised of recently composed and previously unrecorded works by Stephen Paulus, including two works that were commissioned and premiered by True Concord Voices & Orchestra. The Incomprehensible marked their fifth anniversary season in 2009, and in 2011 Prayers and Remembrances marked the tenth anniversary of the September 11, 2001 tragedy.
Far In The Heavens won True Concord a GRAMMY nomination for Best Choral Performance in 2015. That same year, composer Stephen Paulus was awarded the GRAMMY award for Best Contemporary Classical Composition for “Prayers & Remembrances,” the work that anchors the album.
True Concord released “Far in the Heavens” on Sept. 11, 2015, the day the ensemble made its debut at Lincoln Center. True Concord is the first classical ensemble from Tucson to be nominated for a GRAMMY.
